Are other types of discounts available besides military?

What is the check-out time?

No later than 10AM on the date of your departure (12PM for RV park). Check outs after this time, which have not been coordinated with the lodging center, will incur an additional day’s charge.

Is there linen exchange?

Bed and bath linens: Cottages, Motel Rooms and Transient Quarters may have bath linens exchanged daily, (except Sunday) and should be placed by the entrance door. Bed linens will be exchanged only upon request. If you do not want to be disturbed, please hang the “DO NOT DISTURB” sign on your door that faces your parking area.

What happens if something is damaged or smoking has occured?

The registered party will be charged for any damage in excess of normal wear and tear. The minimum fee for damage is $250.

Is there a museum?

There is no museum on site, but there is one in Port Clinton.

Is there a Post Office? Can I have mail delivered?

We can only accept letters, NO packages will be accepted at Building 1. We suggest you use the Port Clinton Post Office, located at 121 W. 2nd St. in Port Clinton, Ohio 43452. Phone 419-732-3322 or 800-275-8777.

Where can I park my boat?

All boats must be parked in authorized asphalt parking areas or they will be towed at owner’s expense. No parking on the grass or along curbs or breakwall at any time.

Do minors have a curfew?

Curfew is 11PM for unaccompanied minors.

Can you swim in the lake?

Currently there is no public swimming. The beach is currently under Restricted Access- Military Training Site: Registered Guest and Authorized Personnel Only

Can I launch a kayak off the beach or use a paddle-boat?

Yes, just stay east of the pier.

Can I fish off the pier?

Yes with proper certification from the Ohio Division of Wildlife and a valid Lodging Reservation only.

How long have civilians been allowed to stay?

Since lodging began. 

How many tents are allowed on one spot?

Two tents are allowed. Up to a 200ft² of tent space total per site.

What does the Military Transient Quarters (MTQ) have inside?
Most Transient Quarters share 1 bathroom between two rooms and are equipped with a microwave, TV, coffee pot, and mini fridge.
Can I bring a pet?

Pets are not allowed in the lodging facilities except for in the RV park. Pets must be leashed at all times and cleaned up after by the owner. Service animals are allowed.

Is there cable in the places?

There is a digital antenna. Cottages 606-610 have Roku internet TV also.

What is the check-out procedure?

Before check-out, guest must ensure:

  • All trash is taken out and put in the dumpster.
  • All dishes are washed.
  • Stove OFF and stove/refrigerator are clean.
  • ALL lights must be turned off, doors and windows must be closed, locked and secured.
  • Guests will be charged for any damage to the lodging facility or room and for any property contained therein that is stolen or damaged resulting from the guest’s failure at check-out to lock and secure all windows and doors to the lodging facility or room(s) rented.
Is there internet?
Free wi-fi is available. Look for ONG‑Public. No password required.
Where can we clean fish?

Fish cleaning is not permitted in any of the facilities other than the fish cleaning house. Place bagged fish remains in the dumpster next to fish‑house only. 

Can I plug in my boat?

Fishermen with boats, using the new cottages may use the exterior electrical to charge their batteries, only if they disconnect the trailer from the truck and park it side by side. Otherwise the boat trailers are sticking out into the road and that is not allowed. No other units have exterior electrical outlets available. 

Fishermen may NOT park near the fish house and plug cords in to the fish house. Parking near the fish house is short term parking, and cords may not be run across the property in any area. The electrical in the fish house is for all users, (mostly for electrical knives to clean fish) not for just one person to plug in a boat.

Fishermen may leave their truck and boat trailer connected while parking in the gravel area south of the fish cleaning station or the Conference Center parking lot. There is no electric available in these areas. Parking on the grass or in a roadway is prohibited in all areas.

Is ice fishing permitted?

Yes with restrictions. Please contact us for details should conditions become favorable. 

Are there emergency services nearby?

Yes, Magruder Hospital is on Fulton Street in Port Clinton. 911 will summon assistance for fire, medical or police issues.

Is there a laundromat?

Yes, the laundromat should be available at all times.

What is the cancellation policy?

We require a 24-hour cancellation. Guests who fail to cancel by 2:00 p.m. prior to the arrival date will be billed for the first night’s room and tax for each facility booked and the remaining reservations will be cancelled. The cancellation policy does not apply during the National Matches. Any reservation cancelled at any time or not checked in will forfeit their deposit. National match deposits are non-refundable. 

Can I smoke?

No smoking in any Camp Perry Lodging facility or rooms. Smoking in the room will incur a $250 cleaning fee. You can smoke outside as long as you are not within 25′ of any building.

What is the refund policy?

 We have a NO REFUND policy. We DO Not REFUND due to weather, emergencies or any other reasons.

Are there pots and pans?

Accommodations with kitchens will have pots and pans.

Can I make a fire?

No wood fires except in Camp Perry provided fire rings.

Where can I have my mail delivered while staying at Camp Perry?

We suggest using the Port Clinton Post Office located at 121 W. 2nd St. in Port Clinton, Ohio 43452. Phone 419-732-3322 or 800-275-8777.

We only accept letters, NO packages will be accepted at Building 1. It is possible for Bldg. 1 to be locked for several days with no access to collect the mail. 

Is there a military discount?

One military discount per family per time frame of reservation. 

A discount is available to those who are retired or currently enlisted. To receive a military discount you must present your military ID at time of check-in. No discounts will be given retroactively. Discount will be granted on one unit, per family, per time-frame. The individual showing ID must be the primary resident of the quarters. Please inform front desk if traveling on Military Orders. The rate is not transferable to other guests.

What if I lose a key?

Lost keys will result in a $50 charge per key.

Are there any grills for cooking?

None currently.

Is Camp Perry a military base?

No. Camp Perry is a military training post. A base is where troops live. 

Is the beach open to the public?

No, currently the beach has only restricted access- Military Training Site: Registered Guest and Authorized Personnel Only

Yes if you are following the Ohio Department of Natural Resources regulations.

What is the fridge or oven size?

All accommodations with a kitchen have regular size fridge & oven. Except for transient quarters which has a mini-fridge & microwave (no oven).

Are there picnic tables at the cottages?

Yes, one per cottage.
